Key Details on the Transition
To ensure a smooth rollout, here are some important notes:
- Public Utility Apps: Starting now, only apps classified as Public Utility Apps will continue to receive free scaled access.
- Legacy Free API Users: If you’ve been recently active on our Legacy Free tier, you’ll be transitioned to Pay-Per-Use with a one-time $20 voucher to get you started.
- Basic & Pro Plans: These tiers remain available, and you can easily opt-in to Pay-Per-Use if it better suits your needs.
Enhanced Developer Experience
With this new API model comes an entirely redesigned developer experience tailored for Pay-Per-Use users. You’ll gain special access to:
- A New Console for streamlined management.
- An interactive Playground for testing and experimentation.
- The XDK (X Developer Kit) with advanced tools and resources.
- MCP (Management Control Panel) for better oversight and optimization.
These updates are built to make building on X faster, more intuitive, and more powerful.
Supercharge Your Apps with xAI Credits
As an added boost, Pay-Per-Use users can now supercharge their X apps with Grok through our free xAI API credits program! For every dollar spent on X API credits, you’ll earn up to 20% back in xAI credits, scaled based on your cumulative spend. This is our way of rewarding your innovation and helping you integrate cutting-edge AI seamlessly.
