British police have opened a criminal investigation into former UK ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson, following reports that the veteran Labour politician may have shared market-sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein several years ago. Prime Minister Keir Starmer dismissed Mandelson from his ambassadorial post in September over his links to Epstein, and Mandelson has since resigned from the Labour Party, announcing on Sunday that he would also step down from the House of Lords.
